The Chinkapin Community
Chinkapin at Lake Burton is a private, protected community that adjoins Waterfall Country Club on U.S. Highway 76 West, less than a mile from Lake Burton. The community consists of large lots, from 1 ½ to 5 acres in size. The home sits on 1 ¾ acres near the top of Burton Mountain, with an elevation of nearly 3,000’. The community includes paved roads, underground utilities and its own water system.

The Appalachian Trail runs along the ridge of the highest peaks in the distance, turning north at Standing Indian, on its way to Maine. In all directions you see the Standing Indian Wilderness, a protected area within U. S. National Forest Service land that will provide the same, pristine views for perpetuity.
